Cory Bowman, JD Vance’s Half-Brother, Announces Run for Mayor

Cory Bowman, half-brother of newly appointed Vice President JD Vance, has launched his candidacy for Cincinnati mayor. This marks the first Republican entry into the race since 2009, which was last held by Liz Keating.
The 36-year-old is a College Hill resident and founding pastor of The River Church Cincinnati in the West End downtown. He made the announcement Tuesday via Instagram & Twitter stating, “Weeks ago, my flight touched down at CVG, returning home from the most monumental inauguration in my generation. When I landed, I knew the city where my family and I live and love cannot fall behind in the critical years ahead.”
According to the Enquirer, Bowman plans to release more details about his campaign in the coming weeks.

As a long-time conservative, Cory Bowman has been actively involved in both faith and business communities. In addition to pastoring, he co-owns Kings Arms Coffee in the West End. He told the Enquirer that he aims to work toward concerns about regulatory obstacles slowing development and the “concentration of low-income housing”.
The two political Ohio brothers have a “friendly sibling rivalry,” according to Bowman and he credited his older half-brother as an inspiration for his public service goals.
